Air Purifier Distribution for Neighbouring Residents (December 10, 2025)
Recognizing ongoing health concerns beyond the immediate disaster zone, 6 RVN volunteers distributed and installed 30 medical-grade air purifiers. This initiative was supported by Past President Irene Tse of Rotary Club of Hong Kong’s Medical Technologies Limited.
- 30 Beneficiaries: Elderly residents, chronic disease sufferers, and individuals with disabilities living in the adjacent blocks of WFC – 廣佑樓 and 廣禮樓, who continued to suffer from residual smoke and toxic gases.
- Equipment: The high-grade “plug-and-play” units are comparable to those used in hospital settings.
- Community Response: One deeply affected resident expressed that while primary attention was on the eight main blocks of WFC, surrounding residents felt overlooked (“like orphans”). She offered profound thanks for the tangible support, sharing her grief over the dispersed community and lost neighbours.
Overall Impact: This action provided critical physical relief from air pollution and vital emotional support, acknowledging and addressing the needs of often-overlooked secondary victims. It helped restore a sense of dignity, care, and community solidarity in the aftermath of the tragedy.
