Dear fellow People of Action,

Happy New Year! As we reach the halfway point of this Rotary year, I want to sincerely thank each president and Rotarian in our District. Your unwavering commitment of time, expertise, and resources has truly transformed our communities and strengthened the bonds within our clubs.

In December, we were honored to welcome Past Rotary International President and The Rotary International Foundation Trustee Chair Holger Knaack and his wife Susanne to Hong Kong and Macau.

During their visit, we engaged with several long-term service partners, including Hong Kong Adventist Hospital in Tsuen Wan—our first Global Grant partner for cataract surgery;

Po Leung Kuk, which tirelessly supports children in need;

and Fu Hong Society of Macau, where we witnessed inspiring vocational training for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Additionally, we enjoyed warm fellowship with Rotaractors, district leaders, Arch Klumph Society members, and numerous Rotarians during the Intercity Meeting.

Chair Holger’s visit powerfully reminded us that Rotary is a global family—built on friendship, driven by our shared values, and enriched when we act with purpose. He also reaffirmed our joint commitment to ending polio, urging us to continue our efforts until this disease is eradicated for good.

During the first day of the new calendar year, I was glad to see many Rotarians participating in the New Year Fellowship Run organised by Rotary Club of Admiralty. It was a delightful way to foster camaraderie and promote physical wellness—essential elements of the club’s “Workplace Wellness Transform Carnival” initiative. This spirit of caring for our bodies and communities seamlessly leads us into January’s Vocational Service Month—a time to reflect on how we lead, treat others, and apply our skills to meet real needs while supporting holistic well-being.

In alignment with our District’s “Body, Mind, and Soul” focus, Vocational Service especially touches upon the Soul—mentoring youth, sharing professional skills, and instilling Rotary’s core values. I encourage every club to continue championing the career development of our younger generation, inspiring them to discover purpose through service, and eventually, to give back to society.

Several meaningful District activities are coming up this month:

  • Jan 14: Meet the Candidates. This year we have four candidates vying for the 2028–29 District Governor position. We encourage all members to attend, learn about the candidates’ visions, and take part in this vital electoral process.
  • Jan 15:  Dialogue with Legislative Councilor Mr. Nick Chan, BBS, MH, JP.  This session aims to strengthen collaboration between Rotary and the government, fostering meaningful dialogue on community issues.
  • Jan 16-18: 2026 National Studies trip. This program will explore Greater Bay Area development and include corporate visits. With subsidies from the District, this is an invaluable opportunity for all participants.
  • Jan 25: Rotarian Sports Day. Prepare for a day filled with teamwork, wellness, and enjoyment! Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

We now enter the second half of this Rotary year, may we continue to carry forward our shared passion for service and unity. Thank you for your fellowship and for being on this journey with us.

親愛的扶輪行動夥伴們：

新年快樂！扶輪年度轉眼已過半程，我謹向每位社長和社友致以由衷的感謝。你們所投入的時間、專業與資源，不僅切實地改變了社區，也凝聚了我們的扶輪社。

在十二月，我們很榮幸迎來前國際扶輪總社社長及國際扶輪基金會保管委員會柯納克主席和夫人Susanne來訪香港和澳門。

在此期間，我們與多位長期服務夥伴進行了會晤，包括我們首個白內障手術全球獎助金夥伴——荃灣港安醫院；

此外，我們還與一直致力於支援有需要兒童的保良局交流，以及澳門扶康會，在那裡我們見證了為智能障礙者提供的啟發性職業培訓。

同時，在埠際會議中，我們也與扶青、地區領導、阿奇·柯藍夫會的成員及社友們進行了豐富的交流。柯納克主席的到訪深深提醒了我們，扶輪是一個建立在友誼基礎上，以共同價值觀為指引的全球大家庭。他強調我們要不懈努力，共同致力於「終結小兒麻痺症」，直到這一疾病徹底消失。

隨著新一年的展開，我喜見眾多社友一起參與金鐘扶輪社籌辦的「新年團跑」。這是促進情誼與身心健康的絕佳方式，也體現了該社「職場健康嘉年華」的核心精神。這種關心身心與社區的熱忱，引領我們邁入一月的「職業服務月」── 一個反思我們如何領導、待人處事，並運用專業技能服務於實際需求，同時支持全人健康的時刻。

職業服務契合我們地區的「身、心、靈」框架，尤其體現了「靈」的層面──指導青年、分享專業技能，並灌輸扶輪的核心價值。我鼓勵每個扶輪社持續支持年輕一代的職涯發展，啟發他們透過服務找到人生意義，並在未來回饋社會。

本月即將舉行的幾項重要活動：

  • 1月14日：與候選人見面會 。今年有四位候選人競逐2028–29年度地區總監一職。誠邀所有社友參加，了解候選人的願景，共同參與這一重要的選舉過程。
  • 1月15日：與陳曉峰議員「銅紫荊星章」、「榮譽勳章」、「太平紳士」對話 。此會議旨在加強扶輪與政府之間的合作，促進關於社區議題的深入交流。
  • 1月16至18日：2026國情班 。課程涵蓋大灣區發展及企業參訪。此行地區提供補助，請大家把握這個難能可貴的機會積極參與。
  • 1月25日：扶輪運動日。這天將是個輕鬆滿Fun的身心靈互動大日子，歡迎社友和家人踴躍報名。

隨著扶輪年度進入下半場，願我們繼續攜手並肩，以熱忱服務社區、以行動凝聚情誼。感恩一路有你。
