Dragon Boat Festival – First Ever Dragon Boat Rotary Cup (19 June 2026)

By DGND Henry Wong

On Friday, 19 June 2026, we came together to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival Day with a truly special milestone event: the first ever Dragon Boat Rotary Cup at Shatin Shing Mun river.

With six (6) dragon teams taking to the water, the day brought excitement, energy, and great team spirit. In total, we welcomed around 60 participants, along with an estimated another 60 Rotarians, and—most importantly—many family members, friends, and supporters who came out in full force to cheer everyone on.

The Dragon Boat Rotary Cup was not only a celebration of sport and tradition, but also a reflection of Rotary’s annual focus: Body, Mind, and Soul.  Across the day, participants demonstrated determination and teamwork (body), while maintaining focus, calm, and resilience (mind). For everyone involved—on the water and in the stands—the event also strengthened connections, community pride, and shared goodwill (soul).

A heartfelt thank you to all who helped make the day possible—organizers, volunteers, participants, and supporters. We look forward to building on this proud beginning and continuing the Dragon Boat Rotary Cup for years to come.

Thank you for supporting Rotary and celebrating Dragon Boat Festival Day together!
