Esteemed Guests and Fellow People of Action,

Thank you for celebrating Rotary District 3450’s legacy with us. Isn’t our LED backdrop magnificent? I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Chair CP Stanley and his team for their commitment and dedication in making tonight’s event a success. They have worked tirelessly to ensure this installation is truly meaningful and enjoyable. Please join me in giving them a big round of applause. 

Notice those dancing ribbons in crimson, emerald, sapphire, and scarlet? They mirror our District’s theme tie and scarf. But they’re more than decor – they pulse with our heartbeat: 

• Crimson rises with Hong Kong’s resilience through challenges,
• Emerald reflects Macau’s cherished traditions,
• Sapphire captures Mongolia’s boundless skies of possibility,
• Scarlet embodies Guangdong’s pioneering spirit.

These colors symbolize our united strength across Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia, and Guangdong. This unity enables us to find common ground, build connections, and magnify our impact as People of Action.

As I step into the role of District Governor for the 2025–2026 Rotary year, I am deeply honored and grateful to continue this legacy. Our strength stems from the passion and dedication of each Rotarian, which empowers us to collaborate and drive positive change in our communities.

In this ever-changing world, we will embrace Rotary International’s inspiring message “Unite for Good” with determination. We will focus on strategic membership growth, service, and connection through 3 essential pillars:

To achieve our shared vision of a thriving Rotary community through membership growth, I propose we concentrate our discussion on Rotary’s Core Values framework. This framework will steer us as we collaborate to build an extraordinary future together.

Rotary isn’t just about service – it’s about exceptional service. This year, we will focus equally on nurturing Body, Mind, and Soul. Here’s how:

Families are our cornerstone, and Body-Mind-Soul projects build unbreakable bonds. Strong communities grow Rotary. As People of Action, we naturally attract like-minded members.

In a divided world, Rotary is a beacon of unity and hope, driving positive change in our communities. Unite for Good calls upon every member to carry forward our legacy of compassion – a power drawn from each People of Action. By connecting businesses, networks, and resources, we turn ideals into impact. Therefore, membership growth isn’t just a goal; it’s our commitment to lasting impact. I set the goal for each club to recruit 2 new members to inject fresh energy, build stronger clubs, and move towards greater change.

To truly sustain strong clubs, we need to embrace the multiplier effect of partnership.  This is powerfully proven in Rotary’s fight against polio with the Gates Foundation, where every dollar we raise unlocks two more, tripling the impact of every act of good! As we near the end of polio, this multiplier is critical. So, I call on all to join the Rotary Hong Kong Ultramarathon on March 1st next year, themed “We Run to End Polio Now!” Run, cheer, or volunteer. Let’s unite in this historic fight and fuel Rotary’s spirit together.

Rotary’s 120-year proud legacy thrives on respect and inclusion. This is our foundation! In our District, 121 clubs gather members of every race, faith, and political view, bringing their unique talents through service and fellowship.

How did we make this happen? Through servant leadership.

When club presidents listen closely to members’ needs, and senior Rotarians take the initiative to guide and support newcomers, inclusion becomes real action. For this reason, we’re excited to welcome new members who share our passion for service, and engage with the Core Values of Rotary – those who place “Service Above Self” at the heart of their lives.

However, retaining our current members, our bedrock, is equally vital. Why? Because new ideas thrive on seasoned wisdom. Fresh perspectives deepen when rooted in our history, and every experienced Rotarian holds irreplaceable knowledge – the roots that nourish new branches. 

So yes, let’s welcome new faces – because true diversity honors both legacy and renewal. Let’s also actively engage, appreciate, and care for our existing members – our living library of Rotary service.

Despite economic challenges, our Rotarians continue to generously donate to The Rotary Foundation, which funds global service projects. The Rotary Foundation’s credibility stems from its strong financial management, accountability, and transparency, earning a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for 16 consecutive years.

I love how passionate our clubs are about to give back to the local community. But this year, let’s think big, and do big.

I call on each area to pursue at least 2 Global Grants. These projects multiply our impact by helping us reach further, change more lives worldwide and ensure efficient use of funds. Together, let’s keep our services strong – in how we give, how we serve, and how we grow our impact! 

Consistent and united leadership is the key to our long-term success. When club leaders build on the past and pave the way for the future, our District can truly thrive. Seamless leadership transition plan will help us achieve goals faster. That’s why I urge every club to prioritize a “3-year rolling plan,” aligning President, President-Elect, and President Nominee work together to create a cohesive leadership network.  This isn’t just about titles – it ensures our clubs thrive year after year. 

Building on this, I would like to express my special thanks to Immediate Past Governor Nigel for his close and ongoing connection with me, demonstrating what a “seamless leadership transition” looks like, and illuminating the path for our District’s future.

Let’s unite as People of Action – living Rotary’s Core Values every day:

1. Serve exceptionally – that’s how we lift up society. 
2. Build real fellowship – that’s how we create community. 
3. Harness diverse strengths – that’s how we innovate. 
4. Lead with integrity – that’s how we earn trust. 
5. Empower tomorrow’s leaders – that’s how we ensure Rotary’s future.

Fellow People of Action, as I wrap up, I want to share some inspiring words from Past RI President Jennifer Jones:

“When the right connections are made, the world aligns and our stories merge. Our differences dissolve, and the only limit to our impact is the barrier of our imagination.”

In District 3450, we’ve seen this power in action: 

• When Hong Kong’s resilience, Macau’s traditions, Mongolia’s vast potential, and Guangdong’s pioneering spirit unite under one Rotary banner;
• When our $1 polio donations triple to $3 through the Gates Foundation partnership; 
• When the 121 clubs turn “Unite for Good” from a theme into tangible action.

Let’s keep dissolving barriers and imagining louder:

Together, let’s harness the Magic of Rotary, grow our fellowship and deepen our impact.  As we Unite for Good, we’ll invent new possibilities, build stronger communities and create lasting hope in the world.   Thank you.

注意到那些舞動的綢帶了嗎？緋紅、翠綠、寶藍、赤紅——它們輝映著我們地區的領帶和圍巾主題色。而它們不僅僅是裝飾，更脈動著3450地區的生命力：

• 緋紅，象徵香港在挑戰中展現的堅韌不拔；
• 翠綠，承載澳門珍視的傳統底蘊；
• 寶藍，鋪展蒙古廣闊天空下的無限可能；
• 赤紅，則展現廣東敢為人先的開創精神。

四色交織，見證香港、澳門、蒙古和廣東四地匯聚的團結力量。正是這份團結，讓我們作為“行動派”，能夠求同存異，建立聯結，並深化我們服務的影響力。

今日就任2025-2026年度地區總監，我深感榮幸與感恩，得以延續這份寶貴的傳承。我們的力量，源於每一位扶輪社友的熱情與奉獻。這份力量讓我們攜手推動社區的改變。

面對瞬息萬變的世界，我們將堅定響應國際扶輪「團結行善」Unite for Good 這一鼓舞人心的號召，通過三大行動綱領，推動策略性的增員、服務與聯結：

為實現我們以社友增長，帶動扶輪社區蓬勃發展的共同願景，我將以扶輪「五大核心價值」為探討框架，期望凝聚更多力量，攜手共創卓越未來。

扶輪追求的不僅是服務，更是精益求精的卓越服務。今年，我們將聚焦「身、心、靈」的均衡發展，推動剛柔並濟的服務：

家庭是我們的基石，而「身、心、靈」的服務計劃能夠締造堅不可摧的紐帶。唯有社區強韌，扶輪才能不斷茁壯。作為行動派的我們，自然能夠吸引更多志同道合的夥伴，共同推動扶輪的發展。

在當今充滿撕裂與矛盾的情況下，扶輪始終是團結與希望的燈塔，推動社區積極變革。「團結行善」號召全體社友延續仁愛傳承——這份力量源自每一位行動夥伴。扶輪擁有強大的商業網絡、人脈與資源，能夠緊密連結人、事與各種機遇。因此社友增長不僅是目標，更是我們擴大持久影響力的關鍵承諾。我向各社提出目標：請招募兩名新社友，為社注入新活力，打造更強大的分社。

要真正的強大，也需要珍視「夥伴協作的乘數效應」——正如扶輪與蓋茨基金會對抗小兒麻痹症的典範：我們籌集的每一美元，能撬動額外兩美元，讓善行影響力三倍放大！在根除小兒麻痺的決戰階段，這樣的合作效應至關重要。

在此，我誠邀大家參加明年三月一日於香港舉行的 「扶輪香港超級馬拉松」 ，今年的主題是：我們為終結小兒麻痺而奔跑！無論您是參賽、打氣還是志願服務，讓我們團結一心，用行動點燃扶輪精神，攜手為這場歷史性的戰役凝聚終極力量。

扶輪120年的輝煌傳承，植根於尊重與包容。這是我們生生不息的基石！在3450地區，121個扶輪社 凝聚來自不同種族、信仰與政治觀點的社友，通過服務與聯誼貢獻著各自的才華。

如何讓多元真正轉化為力量？答案在於踐行服務式領導 (Servant Leadership)。當社長們躬身傾聽社友需求，資深社友主動提攜後輩，包容便從理念落地為行動。正因如此，我們渴求懷抱服務熱忱、認同扶輪價值、以「超我服務」為信念的新血加入。

但同樣地，維繫現有的社友也至關重要。為什麼？因為新創意需借經驗智慧才能高飛，新視角需扎根歷史才能深刻；每一位資深社友都是無可替代的根脈，是新枝茁壯的基礎。

因此，讓我們熱情歡迎新面孔——因為真正的多元不僅尊重傳承，還擁抱創新。讓我們主動凝聚、真誠讚美，並用心關懷現有的社友——他們是扶輪智慧的生動年輪。

縱然環球經濟挑戰重重，扶輪社友仍持續慷慨捐助扶輪基金，鼎力支持全球服務項目。扶輪基金以其嚴謹的財務管理、高度問責與透明度，創下連續16年榮獲慈善導航 (Charity Navigator)四星評級的卓越記錄。

我深深敬佩各社扎根於本地社區服務的熱忱，但今年讓我們把眼光投向全球舞台。我呼籲每個地域至少推進兩項全球獎助金 (Global Grants) 項目。這類項目能倍增我們的影響力，助我們觸達國際層面，改變更多生命，並善用資源效能。讓我們同心拓展界限，在捐贈和服務上跨域共善，以誠信鑄就永恆影響力。

持續團結的領導力是長遠成功的關鍵。當社長們承先啟後，地區才能蓬勃發展。無縫銜接的領袖計劃將幫助我們更快達成目標。因此，我敦請各社制定「三年滾動計劃」，確保現任社長、社長當選人及社長提名人共同構建無縫的領導網，這不僅關乎頭銜，更是確保策略永續、服務綿延的關鍵。

在此，我要特別感謝羅承益剛卸任總監 以夥伴情誼與我緊密協作，實踐何謂「無縫交接」，為地區照亮薪火之路。

讓我們作為行動夥伴團結起來，每日踐行扶輪價值：

• 力行卓越服務——以此提升社會。
• 締造真誠聯誼——以此凝聚社群。
• 匯聚多元優勢——以此驅動創新。
• 秉持誠信領導——以此贏得信任。
• 賦能未來領袖——以此永續扶輪。

親愛的扶輪行動夥伴們，最後，請讓我以國際扶輪前社長珍妮佛‧瓊斯 (Jennifer Jones) 的話與大家共勉：

「當聯結的光芒亮起—— 世界自會共鳴，故事開始交融；隔閡在光中消融，想像力的邊界，便是我們改變世界的疆域。」

在3450地區，我們親歷了這份力量：

• 當香港的堅韌、澳門的傳統、蒙古的遼闊潛力與廣東的開拓精神，在同一扶輪旗幟下團結；
• 當我們對抗小兒麻痹的每一美元捐款，通過蓋茨基金會的三倍配對；
• 當121個分社將「團結行善」從口號變為行動。

讓我們繼續消融隔閡，想像無界！  讓我們共同匯聚扶輪的魔力，強化我們的情誼，傳播我們的影響。當我們團結行善，必將開創嶄新可能，建設更強的社區，為世界創造持久的希望。
