District Rotary Foundation Committee 2025 – 26
This issue will cover various types of fund donation, namely the Polio Plus Fund, Endowment Fund and Annual Fund. This will give you more idea about fund raising in Rotary.
World Polio Day

World Polio Day falls in October. World Polio Day highlights the global efforts to end poliomyelitis (polio) worldwide. Polio is a life-threatening disease caused by the poliovirus, which the World Health Assembly committed to eradicate in 1988. The WHO European Region was declared polio-free in 2002 and has sustained this status every year since then.
Every year on 24 October, we observe World Polio Day to raise awareness of the importance of polio vaccination to protect every child from this devastating disease, and to celebrate the many parents, professionals and volunteers whose contributions make polio eradication achievable. Rotarians may contribute to eradicate polio by organizing fundraising activities or to donate to the Rotary Polio Plus Fund directly. Same as last year, there will be three tiers of End polio donation at our district. These are tier one US$1,600; tier two US$1,100 & tier three US$800 respectively. For details, please contact the End Polio Sub Committee Chair under PP Anita Tang in Hong Kong or Fund-Raising Team Deputy Chair PP Elizabete Fong in Macau. There are a series of End Polio events coming.
Macau clubs are organizing their area End Polio Charity Walk & Run on 19 October 2025, please join and support!

Area 9 & 10 are also organizing another End Polio Walk in Mongolia on 4 Oct, 2025. In addition to Macau and Mongolia, our district will host the Rotary Hong Kong Ultra Marathon cum End Polio Walk on 1 March 2026. Please stay tuned. More information will be updated soon. Currently & globally, there are only two countries that still have polio cases. Let’s join us and eradicate polio in the world.
Endowment Fund
Gifts to Rotary’s Endowment ensure that future Rotarians will have the resources they need to design and implement sustainable projects year after year. This is made possible by preserving and investing initial contributions and spending only a portion of the earnings.
This strategy supports Rotary’s causes today while generating funds that will further the work of future Rotarians committed to Doing Good in the World.
You may choose to give to Endowment Fund any time or include a commitment to the Foundation in your Will or estate plan. The giving to endowment fund will be managed by professional investment specialists. The return of the donated endowment fund will come back to our district every year and fund to our grant projects. If the donation more than US$25,000, you can name the donated endowment fund too. If you have any queries about the giving to Endowment Fund, please do not hesitate to contact district Fund Raising Team Chair DGN Frank Chan or District Rotary Foundation Chair PDG Wilson Cheng. They are happy to serve and explain the details for you.
Annual Fund
Gifts to the Annual Fund is another core giving to Rotary. This helps Rotary and Rotaract clubs take action today to create positive change in communities close to home and around the world. Contributions help strengthening peace efforts, fighting disease, providing clean water and sanitation, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies and protecting the environment.
Annual Fund can be raised by donations made by any members. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name of US$1,000 to The Rotary Foundation. Major Donor recognition acknowledges donors whose combined personal or cumulative giving has reached US$10,000 at level one. For those donated US$25,000 or above will be Major Donor level two. Then the giving up to US$50,000 or above, will be Major Donor level three. When the donation up to US$100,000 & below US$250,000, the donors will be Major Donor level four. Furthermore, the Arch Klumph Society recognizes The Rotary Foundation’s highest tier of donors, i.e. those who have contributed US$250,000 or above during their lifetime. Roughly around half of the donated amount will be allocated back to our district three years later after the donation. This is known as District Designated Fund (DDF) that will further support our district’s grant projects, including district grants, global grants & other TRD programs.
Let’s join us to donate and “Unite for Good”?
