Highlights from the Third District Management Committee Meeting
On September 2, the District held its third District Management Committee (DMC) meeting of the year—a session packed with updates and insights.
The meeting kicked off with a warm-up on effective presentation and storytelling, introducing a pyramid-based structure to help leaders communicate with clarity and impact.
District Governor Cassy Cheng led with key updates, including the announcement of Rotary International’s new leadership: RI President-Elect Olayinka Babalola and RI President Nominee Larry Nunsfolk. She then shared a vivid recap of her recent visit to Mongolia—a whirlwind tour that included visits to 20 clubs, six service project sites, and a meeting with government officials. DG Cassy encouraged mother clubs of Mongolia clubs to actively support and nurture their daughter clubs and invited clubs in Hong Kong and Macau to explore collaboration opportunities based on Mongolia’s inspiring service initiatives.
Environmental Focus: Dagu Glacier Trip
DG Cassy also spotlighted the upcoming District trip to Dagu Glacier in late October, organized by the Preserve Planet Earth Committee. This rare opportunity offers Rotarians a firsthand look at glacier preservation efforts—an eye-opening experience that blends environmental awareness with Rotary’s commitment to sustainability.
Foundation Goals & Giving
The District Foundation Committee reported a fundraising goal of US$1 million for the year. DG Cassy encouraged all District leaders and officers to consider contributing to The Rotary Foundation, reinforcing our shared mission to create lasting change.
Committee Updates & Upcoming Events
Committee chairs shared progress and promoted key initiatives. September and October are buzzing with activities organized by District Rotaract Committee, Membership Committee, Rotary Action Group for Peace (HK and Macao Chapter), Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Committee, Public Image Committee, District Vocational Services Committee and District Government Liaison Committee.
Assistant Governors provided detailed updates on membership growth, club service projects, and joint area activities—highlighting the collaborative spirit that defines our District.
The reports from Committees wrapped up with a reminder from the PI Committee: please ensure all materials reflect the updated District logo. Consistency matters!
We’re proud to say: our District is thriving. With strong leadership, active committees, and a full calendar of meaningful events, we’re building momentum—and making an impact.
