「白內障手術慈善計劃」首次走進社區!

荃灣扶輪社聯同港安醫院慈善基金、全民健康協會及東區區議員盧曉楓議員辦事處，於柴灣興華社區會堂開展服務受眾招募活動，為低收入、領綜援或受眼疾困擾的長者，撐起清晰視界。

於2025年9月16日活動當日，港安醫院團隊貼心講解白內障知識，天倫護老服務中心、全民健康協會解讀服務券申請流程，扶輪社社友耐心協助長者完成健康問卷評估，區議員更贊助並派發愛心福袋。每一環節用心銜接，讓溫暖精准觸達有需要的群體。

值得一提的是，此項目由荃灣扶輪社及港安醫院慈善基金共同贊助白内障手術費用。荃灣扶輪社也憑著此服務項目成功申請並獲得了扶輪基金會全球獎助金(ROTARY FOUNDATION GLOBAL GRANTS)。這份來之不易的支持，為長者的光明之路注入了堅實力量

日後，通過評估的合資格長者或將安排術前檢查、專人陪診、術後複查等一站式服務。荃灣扶輪社以行動踐行公益承諾，與各界攜手並肩，助力長者重現明亮目光，樂享精彩生活

“The Cataract Surgery Charity Program” has made its first community outreach! 

In collaboration with the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Charitable Foundation, the Universal Health Association, and the office of Eastern District Councilor Mr. Lo, the Rotary Club of Tsuen Wan launched a service recruitment event at Chai Wan Hing Wah Community Hall. The initiative aims to support low-income seniors, those receiving comprehensive social security assistance, and the elderly suffering from eye diseases by providing them with clear vision. 

On the day of the event i.e. 16 September 2025, the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital team thoughtfully explained cataract-related knowledge, while the Harmony Elderly Care Service Center and the Health for Community Association detailed the application process for service vouchers. Members of the Rotary Club patiently assisted seniors in completing health questionnaire assessments, and the district councilor sponsored and distributed gift packages. Every segment of the event was meticulously organized to ensure that warmth and support precisely reached those in need. 

It is worth mentioning that this project is jointly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Tsuen Wan and the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Charitable Foundation to cover the costs of cataract surgeries. Furthermore, the Rotary Club of Tsuen Wan successfully applied for and received a Global Grant from The Rotary Foundation for this initiative. This hard-earned support has provided solid strength to illuminate the path toward better vision for the elderly.

In the future, eligible seniors who pass the assessment may be provided with one-stop services, including pre-operative examinations, personalized medical accompaniment, and post-operative follow-ups. The Rotary Club of Tsuen Wan is putting its commitment to public welfare into action, joining hands with various sectors to help seniors regain clear eyesight and enjoy a vibrant life.
