Rotary Volunteer Network (RVN) Service Report: Wang Fuk Court (WFC) Fire Tragedy Support<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

1. Support for Aid Distribution & Registration (December 3-5, 2025)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the request of the Tai Po Baptist Church, the RVN deployed around 30 volunteers over three days to support Oxfam and the Red Cross helping some 1000 households on financial aids distribution and registrations respectively at the Tai Po Baptist Church Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Waiting Zone: Volunteers provided comfort to affected residents, managed expectations regarding wait times, and offered a compassionate ear for them to share their feelings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Registration Zone: Volunteers assisted residents in completing forms for financial aid and identified any special needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Checking Zone: Team members meticulously reviewed documents and confirmed details to ensure each case was processed accurately and efficiently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Financial Assistance & Collection Zones: Volunteers guided beneficiaries through the process and facilitated the smooth distribution of aid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Overall Impact: The RVN team focused on providing respectful and empathetic support, ensuring the entire aid process was conducted smoothly and with compassion during an exceptionally challenging time for the residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Working with HKPHAB Association ( \u5927\u57d4\u65b0\u754c\u50b7\u5065\u4e2d\u5fc3)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Air Purifier Distribution for Neighbouring Residents (December 10, 2025)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Recognizing ongoing health concerns beyond the immediate disaster zone, 6 RVN volunteers distributed and installed 30 medical-grade air purifiers. This initiative was supported by Past President Irene Tse of Rotary Club of Hong Kong\u2019s Medical Technologies Limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • 30 Beneficiaries: Elderly residents, chronic disease sufferers, and individuals with disabilities living in the adjacent blocks of WFC – \u5ee3\u4f51\u6a13 and \u5ee3\u79ae\u6a13, who continued to suffer from residual smoke and toxic gases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Equipment: The high-grade “plug-and-play” units are comparable to those used in hospital settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Community Response: One deeply affected resident expressed that while primary attention was on the eight main blocks of WFC, surrounding residents felt overlooked (“like orphans”). She offered profound thanks for the tangible support, sharing her grief over the dispersed community and lost neighbours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Overall Impact: This action provided critical physical relief from air pollution and vital emotional support, acknowledging and addressing the needs of often-overlooked secondary victims. It helped restore a sense of dignity, care, and community solidarity in the aftermath of the tragedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
